For newly adopted puppies and kittens, it is imperative to start vaccinations between 6-8 weeks of age to make sure their immune systems can handle all the viruses around, especially in Southern California! Please make sure to bring any medical records, including vaccine records, from the adoption facility. We will also ask for you to bring a fecal sample for parasite testing. Parasites are very common in young pets due to their weaker local immunity to pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, parasites, and more.
Puppies and kittens can also be born with an array of congenital issues ie heart disease, so it is important to get them checked out by a doctor and catch these issues early!
